Woman arrested in Saturday homicide

Editor's Note: A previous headline on this story incorrectly stated that charges have been filed in this incident.

They met at a party earlier that evening, but before the sun came up Saturday, one of them was dead — and the other is in jail facing a homicide charge, authorities said Monday.

Boston Sicard, 20, was found at the corner of Central and Ridge Road just after 4 a.m. Saturday, bleeding from multiple stab wounds, Wichita police Lt. Ken Landwehr said.

He was taken to Wesley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:24 a.m. Saturday.

A blood trail led back to an apartment complex at 734 N. Country Acres, where residents said the victim had had a struggle with a 20-year-old woman who lived at the complex, Landwehr said.

"There was no domestic relationship between the two," he said. "They had been partying together that night."

The two came to the complex about an hour before the argument took place, Landwehr said.

The woman returned to the complex behind the bowling alley facing Ridge Road later Saturday morning and turned herself in.

She was questioned by officers and then arrested on suspicion of second-degree reckless murder, Landwehr said.

The argument was about another woman not present at the time of the stabbing, Landwehr said.

This is the 14th homicide of the year in Wichita, he said.
