A 53-year-old Wichita man remained in critical condition Tuesday after he was found lying on a sidewalk outside a west Wichita bar with severe head injuries, police said.
The man had a possible boot print on his face. Investigators were trying to determine if his injuries were from a beating or were accidental, police spokesman Gordon Bassham said.
The man suffered a "brain bleed" and severe facial injuries and was missing teeth, Bassham said.
The man was taken in critical condition to Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis.

The incident was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at Doobley's bar, in the 700 block of North West Street, Bassham said.
Police said a possible suspect was described as wearing blue jeans and no shirt, with tattoos on his chest and arms.
A woman who works at the bar said the injured man had fallen multiple times and had to be escorted out because he was intoxicated, Bassham said.
