A Wichita man died shortly after midnight Thursday after a shooting in the 2500 block of East Murdock.
Capt. Rusty Leeds, with the Wichita Police Department, said Friday that officers responded to the shooting just before 11 p.m. Thursday. When police arrived, he said, they found that 50-year-old Martin Carlos De Cosas had been shot in the chest.
He was pronounced dead about an hour later after being transported to the hospital.
Leeds said De Cosas was visiting someone at a house in the 2500 block of East Murdock when a woman they knew came to the home, shot De Cosas and fled.

Police found the woman and identified four additional suspects in what Leeds said appears to have been an attempted residential robbery for cash.
Leeds said Friday that the five suspects were in custody and being interviewed. He said he anticipates some, if not all, the suspects would be booked into jail on charges related to aggravated robbery and the shooting.
