Wichita motorcyclist, 63, dies after crash on Washington

A 63-year-old motorcyclist has died at a Wichita hospital after crashing at Washington Avenue and Bayley Street, a police official said Saturday.

The accident occurred about 7 p.m. Friday when the motorcyclist hit the median, near Lincoln, and was ejected, Sgt. Mark Jackson said.

The man, of Wichita, was pronounced dead at about 10:45 p.m. at a hospital, Jackson said.

The man was going north on Washington when the crash happened, Jackson said. On Friday, police said witnesses reported seeing the man and another motorcyclist traveling at “a high rate of speed” when the collision occurred.
