The Reno County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Monday in a wheat field about 3 miles southwest of Nickerson.
Farm workers who were driving a fertilizer spreader discovered the body while in the wheat field shortly after 10 a.m. Monday, according to a Facebook posting by Capt. Steve Lutz of the Reno County Sheriff’s Office.
The body has since been sent to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center for an autopsy and identification.
