The Dane G. Hansen Foundation awarded a $30,000 grant to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Wichita, according to a news release from the foundation.
The grant is a part of the Ronald McDonald House’s “Adopt a Room” program in which an individual, family or business can help provide lodging and living necessities to families with a child seeking medical care.
Rooms at the Ronald McDonald Houses are open to families who often cannot find or afford suitable living during their child’s hospitalization.
There are two Ronald McDonald homes in Wichita: one near Wesley Medical Center and one near Via Christi Hospital St. Francis. The grant will cover the expenses for a guest room at one of the houses for 375 days.
