A woman was hurt in an early morning fire at her travel trailer in Oaklawn, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 2:39 a.m. at Pinaire Mobile Home Park, 5205 S. Clifton, Sedgwick County Fire Marshal Dan Wegner said. That’s southwest of K-15 and 47th Street South.
“She told us she heard a loud pop,” Wegner said of the trailer’s occupant, a woman in her early 40s. “The next thing she knew, the trailer was on fire.”
It took firefighters nearly 45 minutes to extinguish the fire in the fifth-wheel trailer. The fire caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to the dwelling.

The cause is unclear, Wegner said, but it could well be some sort of electrical malfunction.
The woman who lived in the trailer was taken to the burn unit of Via Christi Hospital St. Francis for treatment and then released.
