Updated: Authorities find 79-year-old Pratt man who was subject of Silver Alert

Updated 2:15 p.m.: Authorities found James “Jim” Flummerfelt in Gove County on Saturday and took him to a local hospital for treatment, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said. The Silver Alert issued for him has been canceled.

Original story: Authorities are asking for help finding a 79-year-old Pratt man who has been missing since Thursday.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation Saturday issued a statewide Silver Alert for James “Jim” Flummerfelt, who was last seen by a neighbor around 3 p.m. Thursday as he was leaving his home in a gold 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The vehicle has a Kansas license plate 399 AUK.

Authorities say Flummerfelt has dementia-like episodes, and sometimes forgets where he is or what he is doing. He may have headed to Wichita, where his significant other was hospitalized Thursday.

Flummerfelt is about 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and has gray hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone who sees him or his vehicle is asked to call the Pratt Police Department at 620-672-5551.
