The Kansas Air National Guard, Army National Guard, McConnell Air Force Base and Wichita-area law enforcement, fire and emergency response departments are partnering with the American Red Cross for an “Honor Your Hero” blood drive Friday and Saturday, according to a news release.
The blood drive is intended to help boost blood supplies before summer, when donations tend to decline. All those donating blood will receive a commemorative T-shirt, while supplies last.
Blood donors with all types — especially O negative, A negative and B negative — and platelet donors are urged to make an appointment to give this summer, the news release said.
Honor Your Hero blood drives will be held Friday from noon to 6 p.m. at Pathway Church, 2001 N. Maize, and Reformation Lutheran Church, 7601 E. 13th St. North; and from 1 to 6 p.m. at Bethel Life Center, 3777 S. Meridian. It also will be held Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wichita Blood Donation Center, 707 N. Main
