Update, May 21 at 2:20 p.m.

The woman who died in a Friday crash was identified by officials as Doris Watkins, 90, of Derby.

Original story:

A 90-year-old woman died after a collision between two vehicles near Derby on Friday evening.

A Suzuki Samurai was heading west on 95th Street South as a Buick LaCrosse was east on the same street, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Lt. Timothy Myers said.

The Buick turned in front of the Suzuki to enter a private drive, and the Suzuki hit the vehicle. The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m.

The 90-year-old woman, who has not yet been identified by authorities, was sitting in the back passenger seat of the Buick. The 88-year-old driver and 85-year-old passenger had minor injuries, Myers said.

The driver of the Suzuki, 30, also had minor injuries, he said.

There were no indications of alcohol use and speed was not a factor, Myers said.
