Driver in fatal hit-and-run on Kellogg turns himself in, police say

Updated April 24: A man accused of hitting a pedestrian on Kellogg on Monday night and driving away turned himself in hours later, Wichita police said Tuesday.

The 22-year-old man went to the police department's Patrol East station at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and said he was involved in the hit-and-run, Officer Charley Davidson said.

He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving with a revoked license, Davidson said.

Officers are still trying to find the man's black BMW that was used at the time of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911.

Davidson said the victim was identified as a 20-year-old transient who is known to stay around that area. Police haven't yet released his name.
