Bulldogs to star at dog show Saturday
Bulldogs are getting a bad rap, fans of the breed say.
They’re hoping the Wheat State Bully Bash & Expo on Saturday can help change that.
Four American Bully Kennel Club shows will be featured at the event, which will begin at 10 a.m. at the Bob Brown Expo Hall at Century II. Doors open at 8 a.m.
Breeds on display will include American bully, bull terrier, shorty bull, French bulldog, English bulldog and Olde English Bulldogge.
“Unfortunately, there is a lot of stigma surrounding bully breeds based on misconceptions about these dogs,” event organizer Orlando Mijares said in a statement. “One of my goals with the Expo is to show that bully breeds are lovable, docile companion animals.”
This is the first ABKC-sanctioned dog show to be hosted in Wichita.
Tickets to the show can be purchased at the door for $15, with children 15 and under allowed in for free. There will be a $5 charge for dogs.
The show will include a variety of activities, including a DJ and a kids zone with inflatables. More details are available on the event’s Facebook page.
