Man killed in one-vehicle crash southwest of Goddard

A Goddard man died in a one-vehicle crash southwest of Goddard, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 4:33 p.m. on 231st Street West south of MacArthur Road, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Lt. Lin Dehning said. The 25-year-old man from Goddard was driving south on 231st when, “for reasons yet to be determined,” he lost control of his 1996 Chevy Tahoe, Dehning said.

The Tahoe rolled several times, and the driver was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This is one of those we may never know” the reason the Tahoe left the road, Dehning said.

A fatality investigation officer is gathering evidence, he said.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of relatives.
