A 24-year-old man died Saturday afternoon as he sped away from police and hit an SUV, officials said.
Capt. Troy Livingston of the Wichita Police Department said officers were called to a domestic-violence incident around noon in the 3200 block of South Waco. They were given the description of a truck being driven by a suspect.
"On the way there, an officer spotted the truck near 47th and Seneca," Livingston said.
The truck sped up and within 30 seconds had collided head-on with the SUV at 47th South and Euclid.

"We believe the suspect intentionally drove into another vehicle," Livingston said.
The driver was dead at the scene.
Two women in the SUV were taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, where they were both reported in serious condition.
Livingston said the Kansas Highway Patrol and Wichita police were investigating what happened. He expected to release more details Monday morning.
