Car 'autopsy' set in crash that killed 2

An "auto autopsy" is scheduled for later this week on an antique car that crashed Friday night near the Sedgwick-Butler county line, killing a mother and son inside.

Dacia Piersall, 31, and Dawson Dingman, 9, were killed when the 1932 Ford Roadster they were in suddenly veered into the ditch as they were driving on Kellogg at about 8:30 p.m.

Both were declared dead at the scene, authorities said. A memorial service for them will be at 3 p.m. today at Calvary's Rock Church in Wichita, and at 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Bible Fellowship Church in Medicine Lodge.

Scott Dingman, 32, who was following on a motorcycle, was injured when the motorcycle overturned on the highway. He has since been released from a local hospital.

"We have not had an opportunity to talk to the motorcycle rider," Sedgwick County Sheriff's Capt. Annette Haga said. "We anticipate doing so soon."
