Three development groups hoping to drive the future of the Kansas Coliseum will present their ideas to Sedgwick County commissioners and the public on Oct. 27.

The presentations will be open to the public, but people will not be allowed to comment. The public will be able to ask questions and make comments at a later commission meeting.

A timetable for selecting a proposal hasn't been set.

The county had requested proposals for developing the aging complex in July. Developers submitted their plans Aug. 25. The plans had been kept private by the county until last week.

Three groups have pitched ideas for the Coliseum complex: Hartman Arena; Heritage Development Group /Walz Harman Huffman Construction/Adventure RV and Truck Center/Adventureland RV Rentals and Sales; and North American Management-Kansas/Law Co./LawKingdon Architecture.

Each group will make a presentation Oct. 27 in the commission chambers on the third floor of the courthouse, 525 N. Main. The meetings will be from 9 a.m. to noon and 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Hartman will present at 9 a.m., followed by North American Management-Kansas. Heritage is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
