Police used a Taser on an 18-year-old man who was found hiding in the attic of a north Wichita home he was suspected of burglarizing Sunday.
Wichita police said six people — ranging in age from 9 months to 47 years — were sleeping in their home in the 2400 block of North Porter at about 4:50 a.m. when someone was awakened by noises.
The family called police, and when officers arrived, the man was discovered in the attic. Officers used a Taser on the man, who police said is suspected of trying to steal jewelry and coins from the house.
