Sam’s Club is testing a new delivery system, “club pickup,” at its Wichita and Tulsa stores starting Monday.
After ordering and paying online, customers the next day can drive to the store, park under a canopied pickup spot and check in using an electronic kiosk. An employee will bring out the goods.
The new pickup method is aimed at businesses buying large volumes and families, especially those with disabilities or those with young children who find it is a hassle getting in and out of car, said Destry Jeter, senior manager of operations strategy, for Sam’s Club.
“It’s about convenience,” Jeter said. “We saw incredible growth when we tested it in Bentonville (Ark.).”
