St. Francis Community Services, a faith-based organization that serves children and families, will unveil a new Salina Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility on Sept. 3.
The 28,000-square-foot treatment facility houses 40 beds and will serve children ages 6 through 18. St. Francis broke ground on the $5 million treatment center in October 2013 and plans to move in the building in early September.
St. Francis Community Services said in a news release that Salina architects designed the building as a healing environment complete with a library, outpatient clinic, medical examination room and meditation space. The treatment facility, 5097 W. Cloud St. in Salina, is located on the St. Francis Salina West campus. It replaces a nearly century old St. Francis Boys’ Home.
St. Francis will host a public ribbon cutting for the treatment center Sept. 3 at 1:30 p.m.
