Hospice Care of Kansas moves all offices to West River Plaza

Hospice Care of Kansas has consolidated its Wichita offices to a single location at Via Christi's West River Plaza.

The Wichita-based health care provider has taken the fourth and fifth floors of the building at 2622 W. Central.

It amounts to 13,033 square feet. The company was operating its clinical services function out of the former Johnston's Clothiers building on South Hillside and from leased space on the west side, which served as its administrative offices.

Cindy Keim, regional vice president of operations for Hospice Care of Kansas, said the consolidation and move will provide for growth and improve operations.

She said several of the company's staff were traveling between offices every day. And neither location had a large enough meeting room to accommodate companywide meetings.

"We were renting off-site places to meet," Keim said.

The new location gives it the meeting space, the parking and a central location. The company's clinical services are housed on the fifth floor of West River Plaza, while administration is located on the fourth floor.

"This way we are separated but only by a floor," Keim said.

She said the company signed a seven-year lease with Via Christi for the space.

The company has about 110 employees working out of the Wichita offices.

Hospice Care's territory extends as far west as Pratt, south to Wellington, north to the Kansas City area and east to Parsons.

Keim said Hospice Care, founded in 1999, is the state's largest hospice provider.

Last year, Harden Healthcare of Austin, Texas, acquired Hospice Care's parent, Voyager HospiceCare. In January, Harden acquired another large Wichita hospice provider, Faith Home Health and Hospice.
