Hunter Health Clinic is expanding its medical and dental clinics and planning additional growth.
A new home for Hunter Health Clinic at Inter-Faith Ministries should be completed in about a month, said CEO Susette Schwartz.
The $500,000 building, near Ninth and Market, will have nine exam rooms and replaces a clinic with two exam rooms.
Accel Construction is the contractor on the 3,545-square-foot project; Law Kingdon Architecture was the architect.
Hunter is adding a modular dental clinic at its main location at 2318 E. Central. The addition will allow Hunter to expand its dental clinic from five chairs to eight.
The clinic is raising funds to build a clinic with six exam rooms at Brookside-Vida en Cristo United Methodist Church at 2760 S. Roosevelt. It currently has a two-room clinic within the church.
GLMV Architecture and Professional Engineering Consultants donated the design work for that project; Hutton Construction has been selected as the contractor.
In addition, Hunter Health Clinic plans to apply for federal funding that would allow it to build a small clinic near 13th Street and Custer and to replace its main clinic.
That 45,000-square-foot building has been designed by Law Kingdon Architecture, and Dondlinger & Sons Construction Co. has been selected as the general contractor.
Hunter Health has 120 employees at its sites, a $10 million annual budget and 35,000 patients.
"People don't realize how good and steady of a business we are," Schwartz said.
