UPDATED – Some readers have been wondering what’s going on at a few QuikTrip sites around the area.
First, the work at the QuikTrip at 143rd and Kellogg isn’t an upgrade or remodel. The store is simply getting a new back door.
And contrary to what it may look like, there’s no work going on at the QuikTrip at 31st and Seneca, though the store is slated for one of the Tulsa chain’s scrape-and-build projects. There’s no date set yet.
Though the company is adept at building new stores while keeping existing ones open, that hasn’t been the case for the QuikTrip at 21st and Ridge Road, and some people are wondering why.
“Sometimes you just can’t,” spokesman Mike Thornbrugh says.
That store will reopen in January.
Thornbrugh says that with sometimes simply closing a store, “You can get it done quicker.”
Readers also have been wondering about what’s happening at Central and Ridge where the A-OK Pawn Shop and a Valero recently closed.
As Have You Heard? reported last month, Bruce Harris consolidated his pawn shop into some other locations. A new business is expected to close on the purchase of the building in the next few weeks. Look for more information then.
A new operator has taken over the Valero space and is remodeling it. The station should reopen within two months.
