“Globally, we are looking at our finance function,” says spokesman Mike Martin.

“For transparency – to inform employees as we go forward,” Martin says.
He says Cargill doesn’t talk about what happens at employee meetings but confirms “there was a meeting … to talk about the fact that the finance function is going to be undergoing a review in terms of … how it’s going to be structured in the future.”
One employee who was at the meeting says workers were told their jobs would be sent to Cargill business service centers throughout the world, such as in Costa Rica, starting in January.
Martin says everything is still being evaluated.
“No decisions have been made on any of that.”
