Chick-fil-A working on another west-side deal

It may be just a matter of time before people are camped in front of a new Chick-fil-A before it opens on the west side.

The booming restaurant row along Ridge Road just south of Maple may get another addition, and it’s one that will make some people especially happy.

Chick-fil-A is working on a deal to open a restaurant on part of the Lowe’s parking lot.

No one with the company could immediately be reached for comment.

The Atlanta-based chain has had a location in the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University for years and then, by popular demand, opened a freestanding restaurant at Central and Rock Road in 2012.

Another Chick-fil-A followed near 21st and Maize Road along with one in Derby and, most recently, one within the new airport terminal.

In the last few years, the Ridge Road corridor has exploded with new restaurants, such as Abuelo’s, Twin Peaks, Panera Bread, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and Pie Five Pizza among others. RibCrib is under construction there.

Since the new Chick-fil-A deal isn’t done, that means there’s a chance it may not work out for that site.

However, the chain clearly is interested in another west-side restaurant. We’ll let you know what happens.
