UPDATED – In his first automotive venture beyond Wichita, Brandon Steven has purchased Lee’s Summit Mazda in Kansas City, Mo., and has renamed it Eddy’s Mazda of Lee’s Summit.

“I’ve been all about Wichita forever,” Steven says. “I’m kind of filled up in Wichita.”

Steven owns nine dealerships in Wichita as well as Eddy’s Ford of Augusta.

“I don’t have Mazda yet,” Steven says. “Mazda is a great brand.”

When this dealership became available, Steven says, he knew he had to move quickly.

“I jumped all over it fast.”

The new dealership is having a 10 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday in Kansas City.

Steven says the building at the property is relatively new, and he has only some minor upgrades to make.

He’s also purchased an adjacent property and plans to double the size of his lot.

There’s more information about the dealership at www.EddysMazda.com.

Steven is an owner in Eddy’s Toyota of Wichita, Eddy’s Chevrolet Cadillac, Eddy’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Eddy’s Ford of Augusta, Eddy’s Volvo, Eddy’s Scion of Wichita, Subaru of Wichita and three Super Car Guys dealerships.

He won’t discuss plans for any other potential dealerships in Wichita, Kansas City or anywhere else.

“I don’t get that far ahead.”
