It’s not every bar that gets a funeral before it closes, but Indigo Lounge did before it ceased doing business at the end of April.
“We had a lot of people from over the years just come and pay their final respects,” says Brian Arenson, managing partner.
He and brothers Brad and Brent Steven have been remodeling the space since then and will reopen on Thursday as Industry Old Town.
“We think that the name’s not too over-the-top nightclubby,” Arenson says.

“The local tie in is the key,” he says of using the Old Town name.
Arenson says it “was important to us to be part of the community.”
“We are going to feature local distilleries and local breweries from around the state of Kansas.”
Just the downstairs of the business at 126 N. Mosley will open for now.
A substantially remodeled rooftop bar will reopen around June 10.
Arenson says that “it was big for us to be able to open this week” due to Wichita State University graduation ceremonies on Saturday.
Thursday is the soft opening, and there is a grand opening party planned for Saturday.
Arenson says there are new cocktails and glassware.
“Sommelier Brad Steven has chosen an excellent wine list.”
