For years, Jeff Horning was either the general manager, general sales manager or the face of other dealerships, but now he has his own.
“I think deep down, anybody at my level … you probably desire to possibly own a store,” he says.
Horning and partners Brook and Brad Phillips – brothers who used to own Mid-America Auto Auction – have opened Priority Motorsports in the former Davis-Moore Auto Group Lincoln dealership on East Kellogg just east of Edgemoor.
“We’re going to do more than just typical cars and trucks,” Horning says.

“Seasonally, as it really gets going, we want to be able to take advantage of all aspects,” he says. “Rather than just regular car sales, we’re going to try to do all that.”
The dealership will sell used vehicles only.
“It’s good inventory,” Horning says.
He says they’ll sell everything from starter vehicles for first-time drivers to full-size trucks.
“I think Wichita needs what we have to offer.”
There will be a March or April grand opening party, and Horning says he welcomes the opportunity to show people how Priority Motorsports is different than the average used car dealership.
“We think buying a used car can be a headache,” he says. “We want it to be a wonderful experience for anybody and everybody.”
