The new Fireshark Gaming opens Wednesday at the Village at Greenwich at 21st and Greenwich.

Fireshark is tech entrepreneur Kent Johnson’s mash-up of video games with a social experience.

The immersive games, which Johnson told Have You Heard? about in January, are played in rooms where the games are all around the players on the walls and floor.

“Everyone who’s gotten to play so far has loved it – even the people who have been skeptical of it,” says Kenton Hansen, who is handling marketing for the business.

A Fireshark tweet on Twitter over the weekend said it all: “From the sounds of joyous screeching coming from the kids in game room #2, you'd think Oprah was in there giving away free stuff.”
