Wichita has lost so many great signs in recent years – think Dyne Quik and the globe that used to be at Welch’s Cleaners – we had a moment of panic when we saw workers doing something at the Jack’s North Hi Carryout sign this weekend.

There’s no need to worry, though. According to one of those workers, someone new has purchased the building across from North High School in Riverside.

After decades and decades with only a couple of owners, Jack’s has been in a fairly constant state of transition for more than a decade.

The restaurant has been boarded up for a few months after the previous owner closed it after spending a long time trying to sell it.

That owner briefly confirmed the building has sold, but there are no details yet on the buyer or plans for the space.
