A Legacy Antique Mall is giving up some of its longtime space downtown, but owner Diana Watson says she wants to be clear.
“That’s exactly all I’m doing is downsizing.”
The almost 30-year-old business at the corner of Douglas and Emporia is letting go of almost 18,000 square feet of its space over three floors on the west side of the business.
“That’s the only side I’m letting go of right now,” Watson says.

Watson says she’s keeping the Emporia side of the business.
The entire space is “too large to take care of,” Watson says.
“It’s a big, big building.”
Watson isn’t sure how large the entire space is.
She is certain of who she’d like to move in, though.
“I want someone incredibly local.”
That could be a vintage shop or some other kind of retail business.
“Something retail would be wonderful,” Watson says. “Would love anyone else to keep this place alive over here.”
Watson has been with the store since 1990.
“There’s so many people who come here, from movie stars on down,” she says.
“I hope I can stay (and) keep this alive down here. I’ve always believed in this place.”
