For the last year, Kelli Foster has been looking for larger space for her 5-year-old Bohemia Healing Spa, which is in 1,100 square feet at 611 W. Douglas in Delano.
She admits to pining over space occupied by a neighbor, the Iron Door Project.
“I’ve been sending energy out into the universe about that space for over a year,” Foster says. “This building’s really beautiful.”
She apparently is fairly energetic, because it worked.

Bohemia is expanding into 609 W. Douglas for a total of about 2,300 square feet.
Foster is adding four treatment rooms for a total of eight.
She’ll also add two magnesium soaking tubs in two smaller rooms. Those are whirlpool tubs that are infused with magnesium salt and essential oils to help warm and relax tissue in preparation for massage.
There will be six massage rooms and two aesthetic rooms for services such as facials, waxing, body wraps and skin-care treatments.
Foster hopes to have the expanded space ready by mid-December.
“It has great energy,” she says. “It feels very healing when you walk in.”
Iron Door Project owner Miles Millspaugh wasn’t looking to move and didn’t want to, but his lease was up, and he says he’s happy for Foster and her spa.
“I’m excited for them. That’s great – expanding.”
In addition to the company, which sells custom iron doors, Millspaugh also has Tri-M Construction.
For now, Iron Door is operating out of one of his model homes.
Millspaugh says he wants to own his own building. Ideally, that would be in Delano or downtown.
“We loved being in Delano,” he says. “It was kind of sad to leave.”
Affordable Delano spaces are hard to come by right now, he says, as are old buildings.
“They’re kind of difficult to find anymore because it’s a popular trend right now.”
Millspaugh is considering buying a building in Derby that would give him room to lease to two other businesses. If that works out, he says his plan is to eventually lease his space as well as buy another building, perhaps in Delano or downtown.
