Kansas Klassics Mustang restoration business to move again

It’s not his choice this time, but Barry Leopold is once again moving his Kansas Klassics Mustang restoration business.

It was Barry Leopold’s choice to move his Kansas Klassics from Sedgwick to Wichita in 2014, but it’s not his choice or his wish to move the Ford Mustang restoration business again now.

“The owner wants the building back for himself,” Leopold says of his 5,000 square feet at 333 E. 55th St. South.

He says he’s disappointed because “this building here is set up just for what I need.”

Leopold is moving his 28-year-old business to 4,000 square feet at 1115 E. Harry.

Ben Gartner of J.P. Weigand & Sons handled the deal.

Leopold stocks new and used parts for 1965 to 1973 Mustangs. He also does everything from oil changes to full restorations on Mustangs from those years and is looking to add a mechanic.

“One good one would work.”

Leopold will start moving this month but continue to do work out of his existing space until the new one is ready.

“By the first of October, we should be back at it full swing again.”
