Wichita’s second El Agave Mexican Restaurant is going to open in Fox Ridge Plaza at 3540 N. Maize Road.
General manager Jesus Valencia says west-side residents have been requesting the restaurant, which opened on the east side in 2011.
Valencia says the west-side El Agave will be the same as the one on the east side, which serves traditional Mexican food.

“Not like Tex-Mex or anything like that,” he says. “We offer the best Mexican food in town.”
El Agave, which is named for the plant used to make tequila, has almost 100 kinds of tequila and specializes in margaritas, Valencia says.
Whether it’s a house margarita or a top-shelf one, he says, “That’s the right place.”
Valencia says after plans and permitting are complete, it likely will take five or six months for construction. So the second El Agave probably won’t open until early spring.
