Indian Hills Hardware, which is better known as Indian Hills Ace Hardware, is selling to Lenexa-based Westlake Ace Hardware.

Doug Paul, who owns the store at 2439 W. 13th St., is retiring.

“My dad opened the store at the current location in 1982,” Paul says.

Larry Paul, Doug Paul’s father, and his brother and father purchased Bayes Home Center on North Topeka and moved it to West 13th Street.

“It was renamed Indian Hills Hardware,” Doug Paul says.

He says it’s been affiliated with Ace ever since.

“My family and I are very grateful to the employees and customers who have been so loyal to us over the many years,” Paul says.

A Westlake spokesman confirms the purchase will happen Aug. 7 and says more details with be forthcoming.
