There’s some more theater news, but fans of the Palace West Theatre shouldn’t panic just yet.

Before Bill Warren recently sold most of his Warren Theatres, including all of the ones in Wichita, he had filed with the city to make some changes to the property where the Palace West sits near Taft and Ridge Road.

Warren sold that theater to Regal Entertainment Group, but his name is still on the application with the city.

The application seeks to change the configuration of the three parcels on which the theater sits in order to better suit them for possible future redevelopment.

There are at least a couple of developers who have been eyeing the property for other uses.

The property is in the middle of a popular area for restaurants in particular but hotels as well.

Last week, the planning commission voted to recommend that the Wichita City Council approve the changes.

Even if the council approves them, though, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything is going to happen.

Neither Warren nor anyone with Regal is commenting.

We’ll let you know what happens.
