Wichita has another new escape room – actually four escape rooms and two conference rooms within one business.
“We focus more on team building, where you work as a team through the room,” says Laura Sorrell of the Room – Wichita, which she owns with her husband, Matthew.
“That’s kind of how we differ from others.”
The business is in Marina Point at 1999 N. Amidon.

The Sorrells opened their first Room in Hutchinson in March 2015. Then they opened one in Arkansas and now have one planned for Salina after getting Wichita going.
Though there are open bookings on the weekends for anyone, Laura Sorrell says there’s a particular focus on weekday business with companies that want to work on team building with employees.
That’s why there’s a small boardroom and a bigger conference room with screens and projectors for companies to meet after they do the room escapes.
Sorrell says she’s open to renting just the conference rooms if that’s what a company wants.
“We can certainly discuss that.”
Sorrell says she believes the Room’s rental prices also set apart the business, especially since children age 9 and under get in free with a paying adult.
The Sorrells also are working on mobile unit to take to events and businesses.
