After more than a decade on the west side, Friends is heading east.

The business, which owner Andy Lee describes as a trendy women’s clothing store, has been in about 7,500 square feet at the Plaza West Shopping Center at Central and West.

It’s moving to about the same size building where Accessory City used to be next to the Best Buy near the southwest corner of 21st and Rock Road.

Lee is remodeling the space now. He says he’ll sell the same merchandise but display it differently.

The west-side lease is up, and Lee says he thinks the new space will be a better location thanks to all the traffic that passes through the area.

The current store will close at the end of this month and reopen in the new space by Oct. 7 or 8.
