QuikTrip is working on a deal to open a new store at Occidental Management’s Tyler Pointe development at the southeast corner of 13th and Tyler.
“We will be building a retail shopping center there,” says Chad Stafford, Occidental’s president.
He says the company is excited at the prospect of having QuikTrip at the corner.
“They’re a high-quality traffic generator,” Stafford says.
QuikTrip spokesman Mike Thornbrugh says the Tulsa company is at the beginning of the permitting process for the potential store, which would be one of its Generation 3 concepts.
The company is 90 days away from announcing construction and opening time lines.
Thornbrugh can’t yet say how this store could affect any other QuikTrips in the area.
“It’s always under consideration,” he says of closing another store.
The closest other QuikTrip is the one a mile west of there, at 13th and Maize Road.
Thornbrugh says 13th and Tyler is an “ideal spot” for a QuikTrip.
“Obviously, it’s an attractive corner.”
