Textron Aviation on Thursday named four colleges for its 2016 Top Hawk program.
Kent State University in Kent, Ohio; LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas; Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.; and Westminster College in Salt Lake City will each take delivery in February of a new Cessna Skyhawk 172 aircraft that is custom branded to the school.
The schools, each of which has an aviation program, can use the single piston-engine 172s for flight training, recruiting and promotional activities. At the end of the year, the aircraft will be returned to Textron Aviation.
Also, one student from each of the schools will be selected for a paid internship at the Textron Aviation Employees Flying Club in Wichita, where they will be exposed to different parts of Textron Aviation’s business, including sales, marketing, flight operations, integrated supply chain and engineering.
