Bombardier said this week that it is progressing toward first delivery of its CS300, the larger variant of its new C Series narrowbody airliner.
Launch customer airBaltic is expected to receive the CS300 before year’s end. Six pilots from the airline completed their initial type rating course on the jetliner, and one of Bombardier’s CS300 flight test vehicles has completed route-proving flights from the airline’s base in Riga, Latvia to: Helsinki; Vilnius, Lithuania; Tallinn, Estonia; Stockholm; Amsterdam; and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The milestones follow type certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency last week.
The CS300 is undergoing flight testing at the Bombardier Flight Test Center at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport.
