An extensive upgrade package to Textron Aviation’s Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP business jet has been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, the Wichita-based company said Thursday.

The 400XPR program includes the addition of winglets and the outfitting of new Williams International turbofan engines that Textron said increases the jet’s range by 33 percent and improves its performance on the runway. Optional elements of the XPR program are new, Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics, new paint and interior refurbishment or reconditioning.

The full package takes 12 weeks to complete or can be done in stages, the company said.

A Textron Aviation spokeswoman said there are more than 600 Beechjet and Hawker XPs flying today.
