Occidental Management is getting ready to start the first phase of construction at Tyler Pointe, a piece of land the company bought from USD 259 in 2010.

Chad Stafford, the Wichita development company’s president, said plans are nearly in place to begin construction on a 28,000 square-foot commercial development, which is expected to include retail and restaurant tenants, on the site in northwest Wichita.

Stafford said construction at the 15-acre site – at 13th Street and Tyler Road – is expected to begin in the next six months, adding that some of the tenants will be announced in the next week.

“People will start to see dirt flying out there soon,” Stafford said. “There will be a little bit more open, walkable space. After this first phase, there will be additional retail built as we continue to lease space.”
