High Touch Technologies has purchased Great Plains Communications.

Both Wichita companies will retain their names and management, according to High Touch CEO Wayne Chambers.

High Touch supplies communications, data processing and storage, and website management for regional and national markets. Great Plains Communications, owned by Jim and Rhonda Bevilacqua, is focused on telephone systems for smaller businesses within 75 miles of Wichita. It is about ready to mark its 33rd year.

Great Plains offers systems from Toshiba, Panasonic and NEC, aimed at smaller customers, that High Touch doesn’t have, Chambers said. High Touch offers telephone systems from ShoreTel, which are aimed at larger businesses.

Adding Great Plains to their offerings will allow High Touch to sell to smaller customers where they are already selling to larger customers in their regional markets such as Dallas and Denver, he said.

“They’re great people, have a great name and a great history,” Chambers said. “The idea is to have that help us here at High Touch.”

Great Plains ahs 23 employees. High Touch has more than 160, he said.
