The Kansas branch of the NAACP has given its Kansas Outstanding Citizen Award to Stan Webb, a Wichita businessman, according to a news release.

Webb received the award for his work in starting a financial literacy initiative across the state, which he began in 2009. The initiative has helped more than 10,000 people with financial literacy, according to the release.

Webb also holds financial classes at local schools and civic events, according to the release.

The award is given to those who work “To improve the quality of life for the citizens of Kansas,” according to the release.

Webb is a founding member of Dreamcatcher Wealth Management and started the Eldercare Channel, a Web directory for senior services aimed at helping families who are struggling to find senior care.
