Kansas among top 10 states people moved from in 2014, moving company says

Kansas ranks seventh in the nation when it comes to states that people left in 2014, according to an annual survey by United Van Lines.

Results of the 2014 survey of United Van Lines customers found that among those leaving the Sunflower state, 66 percent said they were moving because of a new job or job transfer.

United Van Lines said Kansas was a newcomer to its top-10 outbound states. It has been doing the survey since 1977.

New Jersey ranked No. 1 on its outbound states list.

Oregon topped the list of states people were moving to, the company said, followed by South Carolina, North Carolina, Vermont and Florida.
