Manufacturing sees solid increases in fed district

Manufacturing in the Kansas City Federal Reserve District continued at a solid pace in December, according to the latest Fed survey, and producers reported they were increasingly optimistic.

Prices showed further increases, with a marked increase in raw material prices.

Most durable goods firms reported higher production while some nondurable firms experienced a slight downturn.

Besides Kansas, the district includes Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, northern New Mexico and western Missouri.
