Cargill Meat Solutions has started labeling its meat that includes “finely textured beef” on its bulk packages and on its Our Certified ground beef chubs sold to consumers. It also created a website – GroundBeefAnswers.com – about the controversial meat product.
The company also put a new logo and design elements on its Our Certified brand ground beef and will include a QR code on the front of the packaging to access a new website, CargillGroundBeef.com. Consumers will be able to trace the ground beef they buy back to the Cargill plant where it was produced.
The company said it is responding to consumer demand for more transparency in how meat is produced.
