Wichita CPAs among nominees for Women to Watch awards

That Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants said Monday that eight of 14 nominees for its annual Women to Watch awards are from Wichita.

Krista Burdick of Flint Hills Resources has been named an experienced leader nominee, and seven other Wichitans have been named as emerging leader nominees. They are: Megan Adams of Grant Thornton; Janice Dealy of Allen, Gibbs & Houlik; Jenni Gerken of BKD; Christine Hilton of Grant Thornton; Jenifer Hitschmann of BKD; Chris Kibler of SMG/Intrust Bank Arena; and Lori Wenrich of Ernst & Young LLP.

The awards recognize women CPAs in two categories: experienced leaders are those who are in higher-level leadership positions within their respective organizations and contribute to their profession and community. Emerging leaders are women who are early in their CPA careers but are already demonstrating leadership and contributions outside the office.

Winners in both categories will be named during a luncheon on Sept. 13 at the Wichita Country Club.

The American Institute of CPAs partners with KSCPA on the awards.
