David Gear started a new position as executive director of Guadalupe Clinic this week.
The clinic, which has locations at 940 S. St. Francis and 2825 S. Hillside, provides health care for those without health insurance. It was established in 1985 by the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.
Gear was previously vice president Envision Rehabilitation Services. He has also been the director of Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson and was a director at Prairie View.
A member of the Guadalupe Clinic board of directors for 19 years, he has a bachelor’s degree in health administration and a master’s degree in health science from Wichita State.

Dave Carter, one of the clinic’s board members, had served as interim executive director since Pam Stanberry left earlier this year.
