Home Bank & Trust Co. has named its longtime Wichita executive, Brad Rucker, as Wichita market president.
Rucker had been senior vice president, overseeing a number of areas in that position, including new business development, commercial lending and underwriting.
He said he will continue to serve in those roles as well as manage the bank’s two Wichita branches at 1409 N. Greenwich and 10421 W. Central.
“You’ve got to get out there and still pound the pavement,” Rucker said, adding that he’s seeing a little uptick in activity and increasing competition from other banks on the pricing of loans.

This year marks his 20th anniversary with the bank.
Rucker started working for the Eureka-based bank in 1993 at its Clearwater branch.
In 2002, he opened Home Bank’s west Wichita branch. Five years later, he oversaw the opening of the east branch.
“The Wichita market is vital to the success of Home Bank & Trust Co., and Brad has been the driving force in our growth in Wichita,” Richard D. Rucker, the bank’s chairman, CEO and Brad Rucker’s father, said in a news release. “This promotion is well-deserved.”
Home Bank is an $89.4 million bank with six branches, including one in Severy.
